A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Chitwan National Park national park is just 10 km from the city of Bharatpur, Nepal and the Bharatpur Airport. Covering an area of nearly 1000km2 it was a hunting reserve until the 1950’s. Modern days allow for canoing, elephant rides, and guided jungle walks instead. The park include one of the last populations of single-horned Indian Rhinoceros and the Bengal tigers.
